WoodMac announces 2020 global wind power market ranking

WoodMac recently released the ranking of global wind turbine manufacturers' market share in 2020, with 103GW of new wind power installed capacity in the world.

Vestas continues to maintain its global leading position, followed by Goldwind Technology and GE, with TOP3 market share accounting for 39.4%; 4-15 are: Vision Energy, Siemens Gemeisa, Mingyang Intelligent, Shanghai Electric, Nordex, Yunda Wind Power, CRRC, Dongfang Electric, China Marine Equipment, Sany Heavy Energy, Enercon and United Power, with a market share of 56.5%.

The installed capacity of onshore wind power has reached a record high, accounting for 92% of the total installed capacity in the world, far exceeding the installed capacity of offshore wind power.

In 2020, the newly installed capacity of offshore wind power in the world will be 6.8GW. Siemens Gemei topped the list, with a global market share of over 24.3%; Shanghai Electric followed closely with its market share of 23.1%, with little difference from the former. MHI Vetsas, Mingyang Intelligent and Vision Energy ranked third, fourth and fifth respectively, with market share exceeding 10%.

It is estimated that from 2021 to 2030, the installed capacity of wind power will increase by 1TW worldwide.
